Utah STEM & Arts Academy Private School Program

Utah STEM & Arts Academy fits the Utah Fits All and Odyssey definition of an approved private school because it meets the key requirements listed for private school participation.

Full-Time Program

UFA defines a private school as a school that provides instruction for a minimum of three days per week. Utah STEM & Arts Academy meets this requirement through its hybrid private school model, where students participate in a combination of in-person and guided hybrid instruction that equals three days per week of academic learning.

Tuition-Bearing School

UFA requires approved private schools to charge a single comprehensive tuition rate for enrollment in the private school program rather than charging only by individual class or subject. Utah STEM & Arts Academy fits this model by offering a private school program with tuition-based enrollment for students participating in the full-time hybrid program. This is different from the Academy’s marketplace offerings, where families may choose individual classes separately.

Majority of the Student’s Academic Instruction

To qualify as a private school under UFA, the school must provide the majority of the student’s academic instruction and serve as the student’s primary school, not simply as a supplement. Utah STEM & Arts Academy’s private school program is designed to be the student’s main educational placement. Instruction is provided by Academy teachers, not by the parent, and the program includes structured academic learning across the week.

How the Program Works

Students in our private school program participate in a 3-day-per-week hybrid learning model.

Some classes meet in person two days per week, with guided hybrid learning assigned for the additional instructional day. Other classes meet in person one day per week and include structured hybrid instruction for the remaining days. Together, this creates a three-day-per-week instructional program that qualifies as a full-time hybrid private school model.

Our program is intentionally designed to provide meaningful academic instruction while also allowing for family flexibility. Students are taught by instructors other than their parents and participate in guided learning that supports academic growth, curiosity, critical thinking, and project-based engagement.

A Primary School Program

Utah STEM & Arts Academy’s private school program is not simply a supplemental or enrichment offering. It is designed to serve as the student’s primary educational placement, where the student receives the majority of their academic instruction through our Academy.

Students enrolled in the program participate in a structured educational experience led by qualified instructors. Instruction may include in-person teaching, guided assignments, project-based work, and hybrid learning support that aligns with the student’s grade and skill level.

Tuition and Enrollment

Our private school program is tuition-based and is offered as a single comprehensive private school enrollment, rather than charging only by individual class or subject.

More About our School Program

Utah STEM & Arts Academy offers a private school option through a hybrid learning model designed to meet the needs of families who want a flexible, high-quality education. As an approved private school and marketplace vendor for Utah Fits All, our Academy provides a full-time, tuition-bearing educational program in which students receive the majority of their academic instruction through our school.

Our private school program is built around a 3-day-per-week instructional model. Some classes meet in person two days per week and include guided hybrid learning for the third day. Other classes meet in person one day per week and are paired with structured hybrid instruction for the remaining days. This allows students to participate in a consistent academic program totaling three days per week of learning, while still giving families the flexibility many homeschool and hybrid families value.

Utah STEM & Arts Academy serves as the student’s primary educational program, not simply an enrichment option. Students are taught by instructors other than their parents and receive instruction in core academic areas through a thoughtful mix of direct teaching, guided assignments, and project-based learning. Our goal is to provide a strong, engaging education that supports curiosity, critical thinking, and meaningful student growth.

As both a private school and a marketplace vendor, Utah STEM & Arts Academy gives families two options through UFA. Families seeking a full-time private school experience may enroll in our private school program. Families who prefer to select individual classes or supplemental services may choose those offerings through the marketplace.

Utah STEM & Arts Academy further attests that:

  1. If a scholarship student withdraws and the school’s refund policy provides for a tuition refund, any such refund will be remitted directly to Odyssey for deposit back into the student’s scholarship account in accordance with the school’s standard refund policies.

  2. Scholarship students will not be charged different amounts or be subject to different refund terms than other students enrolled in the same program.

  3. The school will not require a scholarship student to sign a contract waiving the student’s right to transfer to another qualifying provider during the school year.

  4. The school will report to Odyssey within five business days when a scholarship student withdraws from the school during the school year.

  5. The school will comply with the antidiscrimination provisions of 42 U.S.C. Sec. 2000d.

Based on the structure of its hybrid private school model, tuition-based enrollment, teacher-led academic instruction, and required public disclosures, Utah STEM & Arts Academy fits the requirements set forth by Utah Fits All and Odyssey for approved private school participation.
